Raspberry Pi 2 World’s Smallest and Cheapest Computer

ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was b
uild in
1946 and it was so big that it was installed in whole building. Ever since the computer race began and after time to time computer size decreased but it’s performance increased. After that introduction of first personal computer back in 1975 big companies like Microsoft, IBM started to work on it so that they can make a machine for every day use. Later on in 1977 Apple introduced Apple-II which was a revolution as it supports color screen with floppy disk drive to move data. In 1980′s the real PC war began and now in 21st century we have a computer of credit card size and that too in only $35.

What is Raspberry Pi 2

Raspberry Pi 2 is a project of element14 and a mini computer of a credit card size with price tag of $35 only. The project was began so that every person in this world have their own personal computer. The whole computer is based on one green board and the good thing is that you can put into some small case and than in your pocket. It’s a really portable machine and now you don’t have to carry old bulky heavy size computer or even laptops with you. Just put Raspberry Pi 2 in your pocket and carry all your stuff with you.
he actual Raspberry Pi was introduced in 2012 but it was too slow and only comes with Linux operating system. But with Raspberry Pi 2 the good news is that it’s 6 times faster than it’s predecessor and it will run Microsoft Windows 10. On top of that Microsoft will not charge any thing for it’s operating system which means that whole computer plus software will cost you only $35. This is really amazing project and specially for people who like to surf internet and always on the go.

Raspberry Pi 2 Specification

  • A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU
  • 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM
  • MicroSD Card Slot
  • HDMI port for connectivity
  • 4 USB 3.0 ports
  • 1 100MB Ethernet Port
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System
  • One micro USB port for Charging
So a quad core processor with 1GB ram is all you need to run different apps and browse internet smoothly. Few things to keep in mind that it’s only a motherboard type computer with hard-disk and even power supply. You have to buy your own SD card and supply power via mini USB cable or adapter. You can also buy Raspberry Pi case from Amazon which will cost you around $8 which means the whole deal will cost you around $43 which is still amazing.

In order to run the PC you first need to burn the Windows image on your SD card and insert the card into Raspberry Pi 2. Now plug the HDMI cable with your monitor or LED TV. Plug the mouse and keyboard via USB ports. Plugin the Ethernet cable for internet access or if you have Wi-Fi- dongle than you can also attach it via USB port. Last but not least plug the power cable via you computer or from your wall socket.
